Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Going Places. DESCRIPTION: West Country holiday-makers have long been able to cross the Tamar River, that divides Cornwall from Devon, by railway. Motorists have had to use the ferry. But this will soon be obsolete, for a magnificent road bridge is expected to be open in November. The new bridge will be a real boon. So will the completion of the new Banff - Jasper highway in Canada. At one point, they’re building a steel bridge over 300 feet long. It will cross Nigel Creek, 200 feet above it. Tourist traffic is already going through this new highway, using parts of the old road as well as the new. And here’s something that can take a mountain in its stride. A new six-wheel amphibious load carrier, rightly called The Stalwart. It is a new Alvis product. SHOTLIST: Key scene. LS railway bridge over Tamar River. MLS car boarding ferry. MS bridge structure.
