BUFVC hosts, curates and delivers 9 substantial online databases relating to film, television and radio content dating from 1896 onwards. You can now search more than 13 million records in one go, or if you wish, one collection at a time. The content and access of individual collections is listed below.

    A database of 180,000 newsreel and cinemagazine stories linked to production documents and films together with articles, case studies and website directory.

    A guide to audio visual materials for educational use

    A database of over 30,000 titles, on a range of different formats, specifically chosen for their use in further and higher education.

  • Shakespeare

    Shakespeare on Film, Television and Radio.

    The authoritative online database of Shakespeare-related content is international in scope and holds over 7,000 records dating from the 1890s to the present day.

  • TVTiP

    TVTimes listings from 1955 - 1985

    A database of programme listings, taken from the London edition of the TVTimes, from September 1955 to March 1985.

    4,000 hours of selected news and current affairs material (1973 - mid 1990s) from the Independent Radio News/London Broadcasting Company radio archive.

    300 programmes from the independent local radio (ILR) stations in the Central Southern (Dorset, Hampshire and Berkshire) area.
