Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: On to Lahore in Colour. DESCRIPTION: One of the Queen’s chief engagements in Lahore was her attendance at the Horse Show. This annual event, with a wealth of prizes to be won, is now firmly established as a tradition in Pakistan, pipers and all. The parade, which took nearly half an hour to pass the saluting base, included foreign and Pakistani thoroughbred horses, and the Camel Corps was an important feature of the ride past. Tent-pegging offered perhaps the best example of horsemanship. This traditional sport, taken at full gallop, demands tremendous still. At the end of the various displays, Her Majesty distributed prizes to winning competitors in the many events. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV Arena at Lahore. LS same. MS lances and flags.
