- Summary
- COI Synopis - In this programme, we look at what the sea can offer us in terms of energy, food and minerals. It also examines its awesome power and offers some solutions for safety at sea. One of the most reliable ways of getting a rope to a ship in distress is by rocket - actually a giant firework. Rockets, however, are expensive, and are a fire hazard in the presence of inflammable cargoes. But, a launcher which uses compressed air to propel missiles is proving very useful. The missile acts as a valve to create a simple but effective system, cheap to use, and there are no fire risks involved.
