Summary

COI Synopis - In this programme, we look at what the sea can offer us in terms of energy, food and minerals. It also examines its awesome power and offers some solutions for safety at sea. With natural fuels in short supply, it has become necessary to seek other sources of energy. Kites, for instance, use wind power and now a multi-tiered sausage like kite has been developed to propel light sea craft. Its possibilities also extend to eventually powering ocean going liners.
