Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Grand Prix. DESCRIPTION: In temperatures of over 80 degrees, the British Grand Prix zoomed away for a 76 lap battle. Three minor accidents - ex world champ Graham Hill went for a spin - off the track and out of the race, and so was Ronnie Peterson. SHOTLIST: GV cars lined up on grid & flat down for start. CU cars away over line. GV massed cars racing towards camera. LV cars towards up hill in following order, Nos 5, 8, 11 and 19. GV cars round bend at speed. LAS cars racing down straight. LV cars round bend & towards camera 5, 8, 11, 19 and 1, car goes over white line. BV as cars go over hill. SV 3 cars towards No 5, 1 and 8. CU cars flashing past. LV No 5 Jacky Ickx followed by No 1 Jackie Stewart followed by No 8 Emerson Fittipaldi. CU pan No 18 Denis Hulme round bend. LV 3 cars, No 26 in lead followed by No 19, No 26 skids off track and crashes into barrier, car comes to stop and fire officials help Graham Hill out of car. LV 3 cars flash past Hill’s car. CU Hill talking to mechanics. CU pan No 8 Fittipaldi in lead. SV No 1 Stewart now in 2nd place, followed by No 19 Peter Revson, other cars follow No 22, 11 and 21. SV pan No 8 Fittipaldi racing past Hill’s wrecked car. SV No 3 Ronnie Peterson crashes into wrecked car & bumps into back of Hill’s car, Peterson gets out unhurt. SV pan as Peterson runs across track away from wrecked car. SV pan Fittipaldi in lead around bend at speed. SV crowd watching. SCU pan Fittipaldi racing down straight. LV as chequered flag goes up, Fittipaldi crosses line to win. SV girl with cameras. SV Fittipaldi squirting magnum bottle of champagne over people.
