- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: FA Cup Final at Wembley - in Colour. DESCRIPTION: Way down South, at Wembley, 100,000 packed themselves into the former British Empire Exhibition Stadium of 1924. This FA Cup Final is a very special one, as it is a hundred years since it was first held. The Queen and Royal Family attended the Centenary Match, and watched a classy Leeds United team beat Arsenal by one goal. Surprising, in view of the fact that the Gunners had it all over the lads from Yorkshire, but after 30 minutes, Arsenal played just like the last England team and just couldn’t play together as a team. This is the first FA Cup win for Leeds. SHOTLIST: GV Leeds supporters cheering zoom out both teams walking through guard of honour of banners representing football centenary. STV Andy Gray No 11 (Leeds) in possession, he dribbles past Ball but Peter Storey brings him down. SCU Alan Clarke & Frank McLintock waiting for free kick to be taken. GV free kick taken by Leeds, Geoff Barnett makes good save. CU Barnett with ball. LV he clears up field. SCU Arsenal player. CU Arsenal player dribbling up field. GV Arsenal attacking, Arsenal No 4 Storey is brought down by Leeds No 3 for free kick. SV Arsenal supporters with banners. LV free kick being taken, Leeds goalie David Harvey makes good save. LV Leeds No 11 takes free kick, ball is centres & Barnett makes good save. SV royal party applauding. SV Arsenal & Leeds just outside penalty area No 4 Storey of Arsenal rushes in, knocks over Leeds player, ball is deflected to Leeds player, who shoots for goal, ball goes wide of post. SV Leeds supporters cheering. GV Leeds No 10 Giles takes free kick, passes to team mate who shoots for goal, Barnett makes good save. GV Leeds No 10 passes to outside right who centres, ball goes to Clarke who heads ball which hits cross bar. CU pan Duke and Duchess of Kent applauding. GV corner taken by Arsenal ball centred, Arsenal player shoots for goal. Ball is cleared off line by Leeds No 2. Referee blows whistle for half time - Arsenal 0, Leeds 0. END OF FIRST HALF. 2ND HALF. SV Leeds kick off zoom back as they attack up field along right wing. CU Leeds Captain Billy Bremner. Leeds No 8 Clarke with ball, he passes to No 2 who passes to No 11, ball goes just over Arsenal line as Andy Gray centres, ball goes into Arsenal goal (disallowed). SV Leeds supporters. CU Charlie George tackles Leeds player, George passes out to right wing. GV Arsenal player centre, Bob McNab heads ball, David Harvey dives to save. CU Duchess of Kent applauding. GV Leeds No 8 dribbles past McNab who centre, Clarke heads ball into Arsenal goal. CU Leeds supporters cheering. SV Leeds players congratulating Clarke. Zoom in mass Leeds supporters cheering. SV Leeds No 4 and Arsenal No 8 trying to gain possession of ball. CU Leeds No 4 Bremner is brought down by Alan Ball, pan to linesman. GV as Ball pulls up Bremner and slight punch up starts, referee runs in to speak to Alan Ball. GV Leeds No 7 shoots for goal, but ball hits post. LV Leeds No 9 Mick Jones dribbles past Arsenal’s McNab, Jones falls over Arsenal’s goalie Barnett & crumbles up in pain. SV referee blows whistle for full time. SV Jones on ground in pain. SV Bremner receives Cup from Queen & holds it aloft. SV Bremner down steps pan up to Jack Charlton following (Charlton’s birthday two days later) pan to Duchess applauding. GV from Royal Box Leeds with Cup. SV Clarke holding up Cup. LV Mick Jones strapped up, shaking hands with Queen. SCU Jones down steps from Royal Box. TV pan up carried round crowd. GV zoom in ditto. SV Cup being held up for mass crowd to see in back ground. GV mass crowds cheering. GV Cup being taken round past crowds. CU Bremner holding Cup above his head.
