Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England V Germany. DESCRIPTION: The amateur match between England and West Germany took place at the Royal Albert Hall, London. In the bantam-weight bout, Benneyworth of the RAF met Horst Rascher, who is the reigning European champ. The German won on points. Another brisk bout was in the Middleweight class, when Syd Parkinson (North Eastern Counties ABA) mixed it with Paul Hogh. This was another of Germany’s six wins. Now, light middleweight Monaghan (Midland Counties) against Erich Schichta. Schichta won on points. It was a different story, when Billy Walker of West Ham tackled the giant Manfred Markgraf. The Londoner, a fish porter, carried a heavy punch in the ring, and he let the German have it from all directions. Stopped by the Ref., the victory went to Walker. But Germany won the match six four.
