Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tragedy of the Turf. DESCRIPTION: At Hollywood Park, California, veteran jockey Jack Westrope was riding his first race there in 5 years. And it turned out to be his last. His horse Well Away veered into the rails, 70 yards from the post, throwing Westrope. Two hours later, he died from his injuries. SHOTLIST: LS race (Start). MS cheering crowds. LS horses round bend. Another same. LS horses enter straight - Jockey Jack Westrope falls. Same shot repeated.
