Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Across the Pond. DESCRIPTION: There was an emergency in a prison near Montreal, 1,100 prisoners were rioting, and in a frenzy of destruction they set fire to the place, that destroyed 15 of the prison buildings. Now to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. A doctor explains how they rejoined the severed arm of a 12-year-old boy, Everett Knowles, who was jumping a lift on a train when he fell and the accident happened. Meanwhile, in California, the Ryan Aeronautical Company’s flex-wing plane made its debut. This invention may well have an application in the space age, the wings can be collapsed and folded.
