Description
The next village to visit by Mike Matthews is Aldermaston, half way between Reading and Newbury, South of A4. It is a listed village of cottages and famous for being the UK’s Atomic Weapons Establishment. Mike Matthews in association with Vincent’s BMW. Track 1- His first visit is to Ken Johnston, the director of Aldermaston Weapons establishment. He talks about atomic weapons, the establishment and says that this is the only place in the UK where nuclear bombs are manufactured. 2- Another interview with a person incharged for Aldermaston Pottery. Others interviews follow: David Luca, a willow specialist of Surrey; then Richard Miller, a church vicar talking about the church history. On Track 2, Mike Matthews talks to Charlie, talking about the Old Mill, bought by his parents in 1935. [Box 4]
