- Summary
- NoS synopsis: John Snagge reports on the production of the 100th edition of the company’s newspaper "Ingot News" in 1956. The piece beings with photographs being taken at the RTB ambulance competition at Ebbw Vale. This is to be a story for the newspaper. The Assistant Editor writes up the story, for which a space has been left on the third page. The editorial office is seen, and there are scenes in the print shop at Argus Press, and the process of printing. We see, severally, linotyping, hand printing, typesetting and proofing, as the paper is created. The Ingot News normally runs to six pages, 15,000 copies of which are sold at 1d each.
The story ends with a selection of front pages from the past 10 years of Ingot News, and finally, the 100th edition, containing the report which began the story. - Researcher Comments
