- Summary
- COI synopsis: In 1945 a young scientist called Ernst Chain was awarded a Nobel Prize for his work on penicillin. Ian Morrison for London Line talks to Professor Chain, now at London University, about his years of work on Statalon and Interferon, part of a complex chain which looks like giving medical science a defence against all viral infections, and being as big a breakthrough as penicillin was.
