Career

Howard Williams was a presenter for the colour versions of London Line, a magazine series made by the Central Office of Information (COI) [qv] originally for the Commonwealth Affairs Office [qv] and distributed primarily to Canada, Australia and the United States. His earliest credit was for ‘UNION JACK CAR’, London Line (Colour Series 1) No.1, released in 1966. He then went on to become a regular presenter for the early editions of the COI science magazine series Living Tomorrow (1969-1983) and Tomorrow Today (1969-1974). He presented the first edition of both series ‘HOLIDAY SKIMMER’ Living Tomorrow and Tomorrow Today No.1, released in 1969.

From mid-1971 he provided the commentary on a regular basis for Roundabout (1962-1974), a technicolor cinemagazine made by British Movietonews [qv] for the Central Office of Information (COI) [qv]. One of his earliest credits for this series is ‘HONG KONG TOURISM’ in Roundabout No.108, released in May 1971. He is also credited as commentator for another COI colour cinemagazine Parade (1963-1973), his earliest credit being ‘CIDER MAKING’ Parade No.92, released in July 1971.
