MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Soccer: England V West Germany. DESCRIPTION: Sir Alf Ramsey’s team fail dismally against the German team at Wembley. With teutonic thoroughness, the Germans cut up the English who were unable, except for one goal, to make much impression. Final score Germany 3, England 1. This was the European Championship Quarter Finals. They meet again in Berlin very shortly. SHOTLIST: 1st leg of Quarter Final - GV 2 captains toss coin (left Bobby Moore, right Franz Beckenbauer). CU ball at centre spot. SV zoom back to GV Germany kick off & attack down left wing. SV German dribbling ball down left wing. CU pan ball goes to team mate. GV Germany centre ball goes wide of goal, Germany kick for goal & Gordon Banks saves. GV German goalkeeper Josef Maier. SV England attacking and German goalie saves. CU crowd with Union Jack. GV Germany attack. SV ditto, ball deflected by Naks and goes wide. GV Germany attack giving movement in front of England goal. SV Uli Hoeness kicks for goal, ball in goal score Germany 1, England 0 pan back to disheartened Banks as he walks into goal. SV jubilant Maier. GV German crowds cheering. SV Maier. SV England & Germany player, they both fall & slide towards camera. SV England 0, West Germany 1. HALF TIME SV England attack, Maier makes good save and clears ball. SV England attack gain round German goal. SV Maier saves but as ball is deflected from him, Francis Lee (No 7) rushes in to score, England 1, Germany 1. GV Germany attacking towards England goal. SV Moore tripping German, held in penalty area. GV Germany’s No 10 Gunter Netzer takes penalty ball into net, zoom into German players congratulating him. LV pan mass German crowds applauding. SV Banks making another save. SV crowds. SV pan Germans walking off field.
