DESCRIPTION: Athletes from 41 nations took part in the ninth British Commonwealth Games at Edinburgh and this special colour reel contains many of the highlights. The home crowd roar as Scotsman Lachie Stewart wins the ten-thousand metres and deprives Australian Ron Clarke of his last chance of a gold medal. David Hemery wins the 110-metres hurdles on his birthday. Seventeen year old Diane Lansley wins another gold for England in the 100-metres butterfly eventCoverage too of weight-lifting, high jump, pole vault, highboard diving and putting the shot. And Kenya’s amazing Kipchoge Keino wins the 1,500 metres, sets a new Games record and receives his gold medal from the QueenAll the thrills of the Games, in fact, ending with the boisterous closing ceremony in the Meadowbank Stadium.
