Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Holiday Scene. DESCRIPTION: London Airport - Our cameramen at London Airport captured the urgency of the Bank Holiday rush. Everybody was trying to catch up on time!. Coaching - And here is something more leisurely: this coach and four is running a passenger service from Oxford to Blenheim Palace. Navy Day - It was Navy Day at Portsmouth, and thousands accepted the invitation to come aboard, and have a look round. HMS Vanguard, Britain’s largest battleship, and the last, was a popular host. Another Navy Day was held at Chatham, and we went aboard to see what entertainment the Navy had laid on. They’d organised a crossing the line ceremony, the ordeal which you might have to face if you’ve never crossed the equator. King Neptune and his Court certainly give you a rough going over!
