- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Dedication American Chapel at St Paul’s. DESCRIPTION: At St Paul’s Cathedral, the dedication of the American Memorial Chapel was witnessed by Vice-President Nixon and his wife. Her Majesty the Queen, Prince Philip and other members of the Royal Family also attended the service. The next of kin of 12 of the men, whose names appear on the Roll of Honour, were presented to the Queen before the service. The Memorial Chapel was built and adorned as the central monument to twenty-eight thousand American Service-men, based in Britain who fell in the Second World War.
