Notes
There is a photograph of Bob Turner in the Focal International article. There is some uncertainty here because the Movietone issue sheets do not clearly distinguish between Bob Turner’s footage and Royal Rota footage from John Turner. Thus the story in No.1416A is credited to ‘Turner,' although both of them are known to have worked on it.

Career

Bob Turner was a cameraman with the Army Film Unit who after 1945 worked for the AP-Reuters News Agency. He then became a Movietone cameraman, and is apparently the ‘Turner’ credited for ‘THERON HOME’ in British Movietone News No.1399A of March 1956. His first credit as ‘R. Turner’ comes in May 1956, for ‘GLAMOUR AT THE FAIR’ in No.1406A. Turner also helped film ‘INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW’ for British Movietone News No.1416A of July 1956. Turner left Movietone in 1959, and his last credit appears to be for ‘ANTI-BOMB MARCH’ in British Movietone News No.1556A of April 1959. Turner later joined Visnews. In 1978 he married Pam Turner (nee Hester [qv]).
