MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Nixon’s Visit. DESCRIPTION: Dining at No 10 with the Premier and Lady Dorothy Macmillan, was one of the social events of Vice-President and Mrs Nixon’s stay in London. A glass vase, a gift from the President last year, an American Degree of Doctor of Laws and other souvenirs, including a Churchill directive (on the eve of probable invasion) came into the picture. Then, our pictures show the Prime Minister and Lady Dorothy arriving to enjoy American hospitality at Winfield House, where Mr Macmillan signed the visitor’s book. Mr Gaitskell was another of the guests at the Thanksgiving Dinner, attended by Her Majesty the Queen.
