MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tulyar Wins the Derby of 1952. DESCRIPTION: Epsom’s Great Classic Race. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Elevated panning shot (Wyand) from our Library. GV looking across downs. GV looking down course, grandstand in fore. Ditto from Tattenham Corner. Bookies shouting the odds. Tic-tack man. Jockey One-man band, several shots. SCU lots of toppers. MS crowds showing their toppers, & women in their fashions. GV paddock. Jockeys walk into paddock. Duke of Norfolk with F Durr. Gordon Richards walks towards his horse. Parade - No 4 Marsyad, Argur, Thunderhead II, Silnet, & Tulyar No 18. Paul Wyand & D Stiles unload truck, tripod being hoisted to top of stand. Paul walks up, & emerging at the top, out of breath. Paul panning with camera. Elevated GV across downs. Start, horses at the ready. Horses start to race, panning, several shots until reaching Tattenham Corner. Panning up the straight, Tulyar takes the lead, challenged by Gay Time. Tulyar wins. Aly Khan leads horse in. CU Tulyar - big head.
