MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain’s Memorial to Franklin Roosevelt. DESCRIPTION: An appeal has been started for a Memorial to the late President Roosevelt. The statue will stand in Grosvenor Square close to the American Embassy. SHOTLIST: KS CU statue of Roosevelt. Various shots of Grosvenor Square, which includes GV of American Embassy. CU name plate - Grosvenor Square. In the studio various shots of statue with Sir William Reid Dick standing beside same. Elevated shot Royal Exchange, shows Lord Mayor and other dignitaries, handing over their five shillings. Lord Greenwood takes the contributions. Lord Mayor and Sheriffs etc. are wearing morning dress. LIBRARY - Roosevelt speaks on Lease Lend subject they want tanks, guns and supplies of all kinds, from America they will get tanks, guns and supplies of all kinds. Roosevelt and Churchill seated on deck of Prince of Wales during first meeting in the Atlantic (end of Library material). Several shots of Roosevelt statue and close-ups to finish. In the beginning there are some shots of the booklet given to public when they pay their contributions.
