MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bread Rationing. DESCRIPTION: John MacLeod, Chairman of the Federation of Wholesale and Multiple Bakers, proposes an alternative to bread rationingHousewives, meanwhile have paraded in protest and handed in a petition to the Home Office to try and stop the rationing. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Exterior shots of men standing in small groups conversing (silent). Interior - at Westminster, Mr John MacLeod. Chairman of the Federation of Wholesale and Multiple Bakers, says a few words, proposing an alternative to bread rationing. CU of him while speaking. Silent CU of him. Women march towards Whitehall, carrying banners protesting against rationing, Big Ben in background. Passing along Whitehall. Elevated shots of crowds in Trafalgar Square listening to speeches (silent) by Mrs Mary Were (British Housewives League) and Mrs Tennant. Women signing petition. Mrs Were enters Home office with NoSles of signatures. CU Home office sign outside building. Small crowd outside Home Office as Mrs Were enters. Mounted police kept crowds back.
