Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royalty at Canterbury and Sandringham. DESCRIPTION: The King, Queen and Princess Elizabeth recently visited Canterbury. The King unveiled the Royal Arms in the Cathedral Cloisters and they also visited the King’s School. At Sandringham the Royal Family hosted a Victory Garden Party for tenants and workers from the Estate. SHOTLIST: KS GV Canterbury Cathedral as seen through gate (archway). The King, Queen & Princess Elizabeth arrive by car & drive through West Gate. Walk towards cathedral accompanied by Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr Fisher). MS party standing in Great Cloister, King (in naval uniform) unveils Royal Coat of Arms on roof. CU Coat of Arms. GV King & Queen with two Princesses standing on Norman staircase at King’s School. Captain (silent) addresses King in Latin. MS King handing over new charter for the School to the Dean. MS schoolboys giving three cheers. Mix to Sandringham, King (in lounge suit), Queen, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret walk out onto grounds, mingle with the tenants, employees, children etc. Children run sack race. Various shots of Royal Family with various crowds.
