Summary
The SRN 4, Britain’s great seabird - the world’s biggest Hovercraft, carved her new high-speed route across the Channel. On board for the inaugural flight were Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. At over 60 mph the hovergiant skimmed across the wave-tops towards France and a great welcome. The 254 passenger, 30 car, all-British vessel, had taken the world into the Hovercraft Age.
