Synopsis
Looks at the techniques of genetic engineering used to produce new combinations of genetic material not normally found in nature and the incorporation of this new genetic material into a host organism for the eventual production of a commercially useful protein. In four sections: cutting DNA; electrophoresis of DNA using agarose gels; amplifying DNA using the polymerase chain reaction; cloning DNA.
