Recovery of Dna from Agarose
- Synopsis
- DNA fragments often need to be recovered from the agarose to do enzymatic procedures, however, recovery from agarose can be quite poor. Here DNA is purified away from the agarose by an enzyme called beta-agarese I. This enzyme degrades the agarose so that the DNA is recovered with very high efficiency. The results are analysed from a photograph of agarose gel electrophoresis. Also describes alternatives such as electroelution and phenol extraction.
