Polyacrylamide Gel Elecrophoresis
- Synopsis
- DNA fragments of less than 1 kilobase in length are separated through a 6% polyacrylamide gel by the use of an electrical field. The separated fragments are then visualised by ultraviolet light after staining the gel with a solution of ethidium bromide. Discusses the determination of the size of DNA fragments in a gel.
