Morning Call Archive No.14: A selection of interviews from Radio Victory’s Morning Call series, compiled as an archive reel by the station. TRACKS 1-2 LANCE PERCIVAL. TRACK 1- Lance Percival did not have university education. Describes how he started on TV programme: That was the Week that was. Before that sold encyclopaedias in Canada. Likes calypso music, used calypso to pass message. Book: To well Versed Dogs, likes dogs, has Basset Hound. Book has 60 poems about dogs. 1 poem set to music: Winston and the Bulldog. Did not set out to be a comedian, just added jokes on to calypsos. Responsible for Whodunnit TV show, describes how he thought of game. TRACK 2- In - Back to Well-Versed Dogs. Discussion of poop-scoop scheme in Gosport. Poem One Black Dog, sad poem, set to music. Adverts. Music. TRACK 3- In - Music - UB40 and Chrissy ... DAVY JONES, ex Monkee. Monkees formed in early 60s in California, describes how group formed, not competing with other bands. Started career in Britain. Monkees made 56 shows for TV over 2 years went to 38 countries did 200 live concerts, sold nearly 100 million records. Music - Davy Jones Daydream Believer 1967 group started as 2 actors and 2 musicians, ended as 4 musicians and 4 actors. Were other bands in Hollywood making rock n roll films, but Monkees was the band that became popular. Still enjoys touring, working in theatre. Would like to own radio station, likes live entertainment. Would also like to produce. [Box 6]
