TRACK 1-In -Donald Sinden welcome ... New set of memoirs published Laughter in the Second Act. Has kept engagement books from past years, prompt his memory. Memoirs have now taken him to 1970. TRACK 2- Thinks actors life is full of ups and downs, can learn from clowns. Most of real friends are outside profession. Has never found any actor really difficult to work with. Cannot really become actor if ca not learn lines, describes how he learns his lines. TRACK 3- Interested in genealogy, describes how interest which started with Australian relations has grown. Other members of family also in acting. Considers Theatre Royal Portsmouth as one of most beautiful theatres in Britain. Talks abouts plans for alterations at Theatre. Latest work of memoirs took about a year to write. BAND 4-5 JASPER CARROTT, comedian. TRACK 4- In - Twenty past ten ... Is starring in 10 week tour of The Nerd, Rowan Atkinson was doing it in London but did not want to tour in it as was doing new series of Black Adder. First time Jasper Carrott has acted in play. Opening at Southsea. The Nerd has no redeeming feature, totally insensitive. Looks at results of people’s actions for material for TV programmes, not their beliefs. Music by Big Daddy. Did a lot of work in Portsmouth in early 70s, many folk clubs and naval bases Likes audience involvement but not heckling. Cabaret not so successful. Difficult transition from folk club to concert, very different, have to be more careful and involved in concert. Music. TRACK 5- Follows American raconteur style of humour, wanted to go back to America to show them he had developed their style, returned last year working clubs free at first, then for some paid work, eventually own show. have to adapt language of humour for America. America sensitive about own image. Writes own shows using other writers material as well. Music - Status Quo. Fronted Rock n Roll band for charity this year. Has been involved in past with Beat music. Likes a quiet family life, married 13 years with 4 children. Has not any pet hates at moment. [Box 6]
