- Summary
- COI synopsis: A British factory has been making fireworks for more than a hundred years in much the same way as they were made in Asia since the beginning of history. Gunpowder is poured into tubes and packed down with special presses. The coloured stars burst from tiny pellets made up of five different chemicals. Only gunpowder is needed for the ordinary banger and a well trained operator can fill more than 60,000 in a day. To celebrate the conclusion of the Commonwealth Festival, a magnificent fireworks display was staged as an appropriate ending to this spectacular occasion.
