- Summary
- COI synopsis: An important part in the Commonwealth Festival was taken by the dancers. Springing from the folk lores and traditions of many different races, dancing epitomises the way of life of a people. From Tanzania come the stilt dancers, curously masked, whose origins are lost in history, and from Ceylon the famous Kandyan dancers. From the Eskimos of the Canadian North to the National Dance Troupe of Sierra Leone they portray the gaiety of the dance.
