Summary
COI synopsis: Cinema screen violence owes a lot to advances in electronics - when the Western gunfight, startlingly realistic, ends we discover behind the scene it’s all produced with split second timing by the ubiquitous black box.
Researcher Comments
Includes footage from a BBC ‘Tomorrow’s World’ programme featuring presenter James Burke. Looks at various special effects including miniature detonators in clothing, fake wax bullets, exploding "blood" bags and compressed air gun equipment.
