- COI synopsis - This edition features Britain’s Donald Campbell, the only man ever to break both the worlds land and water speed records in the same year. Son of Sir Malcolm Campbell, the only other man to hold both records, Donald had his first success when he reached over 200 mph in a pure jet hydraplane called Bluebird. In 1964 he broke the world land record at 403 mph in a gas turbine car also called Bluebird. At the end of 1964, he broke the world water speed record in the jet boat Bluebird at 260mph
