Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Flying Eagles. DESCRIPTION: At Chilham Castle, home of Viscount Massereene and Ferrard, they are trying to promote interest in the conservation of birds of prey. Displays are staged so that visitors can observe the birds at close quarters and watch them in free flight. Movietone’s slow motion camera captures the grace of an eagle in flight. SHOTLIST: GV Chilham Village in Kent. GV Chilham Castle. SV pan pull back girl in medieval dress riding side saddle with kestrel on arm. LV in front of house man with eagle on his arm places it on a post on the lane by others on posts. SCU man feeding eagles. LV man leaves one eagle & walks to another on a post. CU eagle pull focus to another. SV man picking bird off post with arm and walking off. CU eagle’s head. GV grounds as man walks into shot and releases bird into air. SV pan as eagle flies onto arm of lady. CU eagle. LV man losing eagle into air pan as it flies to lady’s arm. GV Chilham Castle. CU eagle being released from top of castle. LV (slow motion) as eagle flies and swoops toward man’s arm. LV ditto man releasing eagle from top of tower. LV ditto as eagle swoops onto man’s arm. LV ditto man releasing eagle in front of house. CU kestrel (as if watching). BV as eagle swoops down onto lady’s arm (slow motion).
