Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Battle of Sedgemoor. DESCRIPTION: On a July day in 1685, the armies of James, Duke of Monmouth and King James II faced each other on Sedgemoor Field. The ensuing battle was the last major engagement fought on British soil. Two hundred and ninety years later the "Sealed Knot Society" re-enact the battle. SHOTLIST: SV pan members of the Sealed Knot Society, ‘Royalists’ marching through the town. SV band playing. FV Rebels on horseback (Duke of Monmouth supporters). FV Rebels on foot marching.
