Constable at Tate

Synopsis
John Constable revolutionised landscape painting and the way in which we see the natural world. Many of his major works are in the Tate collection and this film uses those paintings and drawings to consider the artist’s life and creative achievement. The canvases and sketches are newly-filmed in HDTV from the orignal artworks. Also featured are ten additional short films that look in detail at a major work, including The Church porch, Flatford Mill and The Opening of Waterloo Bridge.
