Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Election. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s electors flatly contradict the opinion polls by plumping for Edward Heath and the Conservative Party. Some devastating blows to Labour included in the decisive swing to the Conservatives. And the Liberals lose much of the headway they’d gained in recent years. We see the new young voters going to the polls, the count in one consistuency and join revellers in Trafalgar Square as the vital results are flashed onto giant screens and billboards.
