- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Writing By Wire. DESCRIPTION: If you have an important document that urgently requires signature by other parties a long way away, the answer could be this machine. Developed by a firm in Kent, it can transmit (over 500 words in 3 minutes) or receive the facsimile of any document over private or public telephone lines. Just dial the number - and the machine does the rest. The receiver at the other end records the document on electro-sensitive paper, and, reversing the sequence, the document can later be transmitted back to the sender, complete with the necessary signatures or information. The equipment has already been exported, and it’s being used in the States in connection with Space satellites. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV woman in office waits while man writes on document.
