Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Skipjack Here. DESCRIPTION: Arriving at Portland, America’s ninth (and newest) nuclear powered submarine, the Skipjack. She has a new teardrop hull-design, and a huge conning tower. Performance is secret, but she’s said to travel faster and deeper than any previous submarine, and can go round the world without re-fuelling. Britain’s first nuclear sub., Dreadnought, will be like this. And, gaining experience for his command of her, Commander Sambourne RN, had made the voyage in Skipjack. SHOTLIST: FS ‘Skipjack’ (key).
