Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Docks. DESCRIPTION: So great is the Port of London’s Dock system, that it took the Queen and the Prince the best part of a day to take a good look at it. A number of warehouses came in for royal inspection and London’s cellars. Then, the Queen and her husband boarded the Port of London Authority Yacht St Katherine for a cruise through the Royal Albert and George V docks. The Shaw Savill liner Gothic, used by the Queen on her 1953 World tour, was there. The six-hour visit was certainly a gala occasion for the Port of London. SHOTLIST: Dock scene (key & title).
