Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Epsom Race Crash. DESCRIPTION: Fifteen runners went away on the mile and a quarter gallop at Epsom. This year, there was drama that no-one could have anticipated: a path across the course leads to a small gap in the fence, and, as Masquerade was chasing Guersillus, it suddenly made for that gap! They were down, a million to one chance - never happened before in all the years at Epsom! Masquerade’s jockey Boothman had been heavily thrown and had to be carried off. He escaped without serious injury from that amazing crash. SHOTLIST: Stock car (key). GV racecourse & crowds. TS bookmaker and betters. MS race board. LS start. LS horses around Tattenham Corner and enter straight. Same - horse crashes into battier. Ground shot - pan ‘Guersillus’ wins. LS jockey on stretcher carried off. MS same carried in.
