MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: London’s Heliport. DESCRIPTION: A landing platform, built over the Thames, and its control tower make up London’s first Heliport, at Battersea. Mr John Hay, of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, performed the official opening. After the ceremony, he flew off on his first helicopter trip. And here is a bird’s-eye view of the new buildings now so rapidly going up in London, and the famous landmarks of the capital: the Palace of Westminster, the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge and many more.
