Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: White City - Athletic Records. DESCRIPTION: The AAA Championship meeting took place at the 50 year old White City. The hundred yards produced a very tight finish: Omagbemi (Nigeria) won. The hundred and twenty yards hurdles was won by Gardner (Jamaica). The eight eighty was the race of the meeting, Elliott (of Australia) was leading, when Hewson (19) began his challenge from fourth place. Elliott tried to hold him off: but he couldn’t. So Hewson went on to win from Rawson (35) in championship record time. He’s certainly in good form for Cardiff. SHOTLIST: LS track - runners approach. MS two Hungarian athletes.
