Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Drama Awards. DESCRIPTION: Some of the guests at the Savoy, famous dancer and actress Moira Shearer with Malcolm Sargent. Eartha Kitt was there, and so were Richard Attenborough and his wife Sheila Sim. Awards presented by Mr Max Aitken, went to Paul Schofield, Dame Peggy Ashcroft and to Peter Ustinov. In New York Ingrid Bergman was presented with the New York Film Critics’ award for the best film actress of 1956. Back in London Sir Laurence Olivier was honoured for his great work in bringing Shakespeare to the people in three magnificent films. He received the Pears Trophy. SHOTLIST: Shots of the statues.
