Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Us 7th Fleet Guard - Formosa. DESCRIPTION: The United States Seventh Fleet remains alert off the Chinese Nationalist stronghold of Formosa while President Eisenhower has asked Congress for authority to deal with action directed at Formosa or the Pescadores Islands. SHOTLIST: A view down the starboard side of an American aircraft carrier. Then a long shot in very rough seas of another warship. A smaller vessel (probably a Corvette) is then seen refuelling in appalling sea conditions. A close view of the deck of a carrier and one of the ‘Batmen’ signalling an aircraft off the deck. Then some shots of aircraft in flight. (Fighters, make unknown) and subsequent aerial rocket firing practise. Also some shots of the warships firing at targets.
