- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: East & West Berlin on May Day. DESCRIPTION: In the Russian sector of Berlin, there was a sort of peoples parade. Effigies of all the well-known Communist benefactors (Chinese included) were prominent. In West Berlin Mayor Ernst Reuter addressed a crowd of half a million citizens. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. East Sector - Procession into camera. Several shots of East Sector procession in progress, carrying large banners, effigies, etc. People in procession look very miserable. Not many people watching procession. West Sector - Elevated GV of large (half million) crowd gathered. CU painting for Freedom Bell. Freedom Bell ringing - CU. Ernst Reuter addresses (silent) the large crowds, various angle shots.
