Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rugger - Scotland V Ireland. DESCRIPTION: There was a large crowd at Murrayfield to see Scotland open the scoring when a try by Sloan was converted by Thomson. A five point lead, however, was not enough for Ireland replied with a dropped goal by Henderson and an unconverted try by O’Brien to win by the narrow margin of 6 points to 5. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS rugger play. Various shots of crowds. People on pitch fight over souvenirs, almost like a rugby match. Others in centre of pitch bowing to balloons suspended on stick. Elevated GV Scotland kick-off, Scots attack hard. Scrum-player puts on new pair of shorts. Scotland attack. Scotland get a penalty. Ball hits upright & rebounds. SCU Scotland attack. Cameron races with ball, passes to Sloan with goes over for a try. Thomson converts. Ireland attack hard. Henderson dropped a goal. General play. Ireland take a penalty, ball hits upright & rebounds. Kyle passed to O’Brien who scored a try. McKibbin fails with conversion. General play & cut-ins of cheering crowds.
