Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Evening News Toys for Sick Children. DESCRIPTION: London’s charming Lady Mayoress, Mrs Lowson, brought her own contribution to the vast collection of toys for sick children. Many of the gifts are in need of repairs which are carried out at Carmelite House before despatch. SHOTLIST: KS. Arrival of Lady Mayoress. Interior - Lady Mayoress (Mrs Lowson) hands over gift to Mr Marshall. Walks round inspecting parcels, toys etc. MS toys being repaired & renovated. Stacks of parcels tied up ready for despatch. SCU Lady Mayoress watching repairs, accompanied by Mr Stuart McClean (Managing Director of associated Newspapers). Nurses placing parcels into trolleys. SCU Mrs Lowson & Stuart McClean. Ditto, the former saying how happy she is with the good it is doing etc. CUT (LONG VERSION) STORY:-. As GR version but with extra scenes of toys being unpacked, prepared for despatch, renovated, repainted, etc. Nurses packing parcels. CU types painting, spray painting, mending toys, etc. Mr McClean walks round with Lady Mayoress. Mr McClean interviewed on (talking to Lady Mayoress) what the newspaper does & how it is assisted by outsiders. SCU & CU Lady Mayoress replying, saying what a good organisation it is etc. Parcels being carried out to "Evening News" vans, vans drive away out of camera to finish.
