- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: 200 Years Through the Fashions. DESCRIPTION: The Queen was accompanied by Princess Margaret when she attended a display of Two Hundred Years of Fashion at a London Theatre. Dame Edith Evans was one of the stars of the show, also Joy Nichols, Dick Bentley and Jimmy Edwards. SHOTLIST: KS. Tilt down & pan of fashion star walks across stage. Arrival of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret. Cut-ins of them in a box watching same. 1860 - soldier talks (silent) to nurse looking after children, mother approaches soldier salutes mother & turns about. Child’s day-wear in by-gone days. Tilt up from shoes to head of child. Person poses for photographer, latter setting the pose. Walks to camera, knocking same nearly over. Woman faints, photographer catches her. CU 1911 chapeau. Dame Edith Evans walks from sides onto stage, out of camera shot, in court dress. Tilt up of Suffragettes, group of same in appropriate fashions. Joy Nichols in 1902 bathing dress & Bentley & Edwards putting themselves upon her. She runs off stage followed by Dick Bentley with a butterfly net. CU Joy Nichols doing embroidery, she turns head to camera & winks, then continues embroidery.
